About Arizona Highways Subscription

Arizona Highways Subscription, the city's oldest restaurant, was established exactly 100 years ago and is still owned by the founding family today. Murphy's ridiculous statement, however, broke loose from its source and spread spore-like across the desert air, evolving into a sort of catchphrase for itself. Tucson's mayor came up with a witty term to characterize the well-known food of his city in 1987. Although it contained some hyperbole, it wasn't ridiculous. There, the food is excellent. And it goes much beyond the common image of tacos, rice, and beans.
