Stamna was founded in February 2008 by Alex and Angela Nissirios from Karpathos a small island in the southeastern Aegean Sea in Greece. Alex discovered that an authentic Greek restaurant in northern New Jersey was missing, where there were traditional Greek dishes made at home; he did not hesitate to seize the opportunity to create Stamner.
